Shanti is on a cross-country trip, looking for her long-lost family. She isn’t looking for a family reunion so much as she needs their help. A warlord has been conquering and leveling territories one by one in his campaign to become supreme overlord.

Her homeland has been destroyed, all of the people either captured or killed, and she believes she has the knowledge to take him down. She just needs the right army.

Her trip goes awry, and just when she thinks all is lost, a small group of soldier-trainees stumble across her. Literally.

All of their fates are inexorably changed – for the better.
